Beloved book review…
Toni Morrison is the most famous feminist writer of all time. She is the one who gives wings to women to fly in the sky. She is the motivation for all women who do not have the courage to do what they want.
Toni was born in Ohio in the year of 1931 and died in 2019 at the age of 88.
She has written so many books like the blue eyes , sula, a song of Solomon, etc are her most prolific works.
But in this article we will discuss the most famous work of Toni Morrison is none other than beloved, which is a true and genuine story of a girl named beloved. It deals with slavery and hardships faced by women in her life through the character of beloved. It was published in 1987 and was the winner of the Pulitzer award.
In beloved we saw the slaves working on the sweet home and badly treated by the master who is called a school master. There is a character sethe who is a slave and works on a sweet home. She was badly treated in this place. Even though she was raped on it. But after some time she managed to leave the sweet home. At that time she was pregnant.
In the meantime she killed her two year old baby girl and at the Ohio river she gave birth to Denver.
She managed and lived in a 124 bluestone road house with her daughter and mother in law.
The days passed and the school master tried to capture Sethe but he failed.
Eventually there is the appearance of a ghost in my beloved. That name is also beloved.
She is a young girl. It looks like a baby who sethe killed.
The ghost appears to take a revenge from sethe about her death but at the end she changed.
The novel carries love, slavery, sexuality, and womanhood, themes.
It is an amazing novel that depicts the past American life. As well as the life of blacks in American society.
I rate this novel
4/5
