Girish Ragunath karnad is an Indian Actor,filmmaker,playwright and the famous screenwriter. He was born in matheran in May of 1938 and died in 2019 ‘s June 10 at Bangor. He is known for his best writing style in kannada. He won great awards like jnanpith award and padma shri for his great efforts.

But out of these the most famous that we talk about is “Tughlaq “ the play that took us to the life of real tughlaq and his kingdom. He ruled India in the 14th century. He ruled in Delhi saltanat for almost 26 years but all the years that he spent were like an autumn and spring season in his life. The main theme of this play is about foolishness and ideology, serculism of tughlaq.
But karnad present this man as the man of opposites ‘

The play starts with the opening of a court in Delhi, better known as the ‘court of justice', where a group of muslims gather and share their different views on the ruling of the sultan and the decision he took.

There is also a Aziz like character in the play who just wants money and their well being for that they change their getup also.
